Corn

1.Corn is grown all around the world except Antarctica. Most of the corn in the United States is grown in the Corn Belt. The Corn Belt includes Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas. Corn is also grown in countries like China, Brazil, Mexico, and France.

2.Corn makes popcorn, high-fructose corn syrup, and some candies. It also makes breakfast cereals like corn flakes. It is also in some soft drinks peanut butter baby food, corn meal, potato chips, cake mixes, and some cookies. Places like Mexico Use it to make taco shells and places like Ireland makes pies and pancakes out of corn.

3.Some interesting information about corn is that some people in Mexico use corn to build their houses. Another interesting fact about corn is that over 800 million tons of corn is produced annually around the world. Also corn can produce some of the strongest sweeteners in the world.

2. The Salt Water Potato- The salt in the water absorbed the water out of the potato.
The Water Potato- The water changed the potato a different color.
The Dialysis tubing- The iodine went into the dialysis tubing and it changed color to a dark purple black.

3. The salt water potato is the diffusion and the regular water is osmosis.

Telomeres Telomeres are at the end of chromosomes and sometimes are appear as stretch like marks. They also keep the different ends of the chromosomes from getting attatched to each other, which if that happened it would be bad. Okazaki Fragments These are created on a lagging strand of DNA during replication and are usually really short. DNA ligase 1- links okazaki fragments during replication 2- only in non-dividing cells 3- Used to help combine the fragments back together 4- Repairs the final two strands in the last step
Telomerase
Used to cause telomeres to lengthen and is found under the germline and is in cancer cells.
Cancer
Most of the time cancer only appears in the from of stomatic cells. Telemerase levels are very in these cells and keeps their telomeres from shortening.
Transplanted Cells
First, cells are removed from a person or animal. They then look for what the cells are lacking and then replace the cells with new ones that will multiply and begin to heal the person/animal. The major problem with this is that the cells die after each use of this process.
Cloning
This is when you make and exact copy of a strand of DNA. You can clone any living thing on earth, but it is a very complicated process and seldom works. To do this the DNA is extracted then the strand is copied exactly by a scientist .
Aging
The ends of the chromosomes become frayed such as the end of a shoe string. After a while, the strands become so frayed that they cannot replicate anymore and cell death occurs.
